About BirdLife Malta:

BirdLife Malta is a non-governmental environmental organisation working to conserve wild birds, their habitats and biodiversity in Malta, as part of the global BirdLife International partnership. We use science, research and monitoring to inform conservation action, policy advocacy and environmental education, ensuring decisions are based on evidence and international best practice.

Our work includes nature reserve management, bird monitoring and ringing, seabird conservation, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, habitat restoration, education programmes for schools and young people, and public engagement. We also collaborate with local councils, government entities and international partners on EU-funded and national projects addressing biodiversity loss and climate resilience.

Young people and partners choose BirdLife Malta because we offer meaningful, hands-on experience in conservation that delivers real impact. Participants gain practical skills, scientific insight and a strong understanding of environmental challenges in a Mediterranean island context. We provide a professional, supportive learning environment, clear mentorship and opportunities to contribute to work that benefits both nature and society. By working with BirdLife Malta, youths and partners become part of a credible organisation making a measurable difference for nature, locally and internationally.
