PU Malta let's be prepared

“Let’s Be Prepared!” is an international training programme for adults (18+) that brings together 40 participants, four from each of ten European countries, to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to support young people in an increasingly uncertain world. The project focuses on resilience, mental well-being, inclusion, sustainability, and emergency preparedness, giving participants practical tools to respond to social, environmental, and personal crises while empowering the young people they work with.

Over ten days, participants take part in interactive and hands-on activities, including team-building, country presentations on climate challenges, fire-prevention case studies, workshops on using natural resources in emergencies, foraging and solar-cooking sessions, certified first-aid training, and structured reflection through Youthpass and evaluation. The programme combines experiential learning with peer exchange, ensuring that methods and ideas can be transferred back to local communities.

The training targets youth workers, educators, environmental activists, and facilitators from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, fostering cross-border cooperation and long-term professional networks. By the end of the project, participants are expected to be more confident in crisis management, inclusive practice, and sustainability-focused youth work, while inspiring innovation and collaboration across Europe.

In the long term, “Let’s Be Prepared!” aims to strengthen communities by equipping youth workers to nurture adaptable, compassionate, and proactive young people, future leaders who are ready to face uncertainty and drive positive change in their societies.
