About Right to Smile Foundation:

Right to Smile Foundation is a Maltese NGO that brings together responsible volunteering with community development projects all over the world. We began our journey in Kenya in 2012, taking up the first groups of volunteers to visit our project in the Maasai land.

Together with the local community, we discussed their needs and found ways to respond to them in a sustainable way. We took this same approach with our local partners in India, Cambodia, Ghana and Malta. Our ultimate aim is to empower locals with the skills, belief and facilities to become self-sustainable.

Right to Smile (R2S) is run by people, volunteers themselves, who have felt the magic of being on the projects and who have been moved to continue contributing and receiving so much energy back. R2S gives us a platform to be creative, to be part of a family of motivated and inspired individuals and to see our work manifest with the people we have come to love across the world. Our ultimate aim is for our input to eventually be providing minimal support and for the communities we work with to be self-sustained and empowered.

In 2016 Right 2 Smile started a youth mentorship program that works with adolescents in order to empower them to develop to their fullest potential. The young people are offered opportunities where they can grow into caring and supportive role models themselves.

The project also offers a platform for other young people between the ages of 18-30 to become active citizens by volunteering as mentors with the adolescents.
